These two photographs show people doing their shopping in very different ways. In the first picture, a family — two parents and their daughter — are choosing food together in a supermarket. They are standing in the aisles, looking at the products on the shelves and putting items into their trolley. In the second picture, a woman is sitting at home with a tablet in one hand and a bank card in the other, and she is buying something online. So in the first photo the shopping happens in a real shop, while in the second one it takes place at home, on a screen. The two pictures have quite a lot in common. The main similarity is that in both cases people are buying things they need, so the purpose is exactly the same. Besides, both the family and the woman look focused on their choice, and both situations involve spending money on goods. However, there are some clear differences. The most obvious one is the place: a busy supermarket with shelves and other customers against a quiet flat. Another difference is the number of people: the family shops together and can discuss what to buy, whereas the woman is alone and makes all the decisions herself. What is more, in the first photo the goods can be seen and touched before paying, while online the woman can only look at pictures on the screen. As for me, I prefer shopping online, because it saves a lot of time and effort: I do not have to travel to a shop, walk around the aisles or stand in a queue. I can compare prices calmly, read reviews and order everything from home, and the goods are then delivered to my door. Of course, sometimes I enjoy going to a real shop with my friends, but for everyday purchases the online option suits me much better.
