These two photographs show young people spending their free time in very different ways. In the first picture, two girls are sitting at home and reading a book together. They look calm and concentrated, and the atmosphere around them seems quiet and cosy. In the second picture, two girls and a boy are having fun in an outdoor swimming pool. They are smiling, splashing and clearly enjoying themselves in the water. The most obvious similarity is that in both photos people are spending their free time together, in the company of friends. Besides, in both situations the activity is enjoyable and helps them relax after school or work. However, the pictures differ greatly in the type of activity and the place. In the first photo the girls are indoors, doing something quiet and intellectual, while in the second photo the children are outdoors, being physically active. The mood is also different: the first scene is peaceful and focused, whereas the second one is energetic and noisy. As for me, I would prefer the way of spending free time shown in the second picture. I am fond of swimming and active games, and I think that sport in the open air is the best way to relax. Moreover, spending time with friends in a pool is always fun and gives you a lot of positive emotions. That is why this variant appeals to me more than reading at home.
