Dear Peter,
Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you. Sorry I haven't written for so long.
In your letter you asked me about reading and hobbies. Yes, reading is very important to me because it helps me relax and learn new things. In my free time I enjoy reading detective stories and playing basketball with my friends. My parents are quite supportive of my hobbies, though they sometimes ask me to spend less time on my phone.
By the way, you mentioned your father's birthday. What presents did you give him? Did you have a big party? How did your father like the celebration?
Well, I'd better go now as I have to do my homework.
Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Alex
