Задание 38 ЕГЭ по английскому языку

Nowadays, people often argue about which school subject matters most. Some believe that physical training is the most important lesson of all. In my opinion, this claim is exaggerated, although sport certainly has value.

Personally, I do not think PE should be considered the most important subject. Firstly, school exists mainly to develop the mind: reading, writing and mathematics are the skills every person needs in adult life. Secondly, physical training lessons are usually held only once or twice a week, so they cannot seriously influence a student's health. Thirdly, children who enjoy sport can join clubs and teams outside school, while academic knowledge is much harder to gain without lessons.

However, supporters of physical training have their reasons. They point out that regular exercise keeps young people fit and helps them avoid health problems later in life. Moreover, team games teach pupils to cooperate and to cope with both victory and defeat.

I still cannot agree with them. Health and teamwork can be developed through many activities, from dancing to hiking, and PE is not the only way to achieve this. At the same time, no other subject can replace the fundamental knowledge that core academic lessons provide.

In conclusion, although physical training is a useful and enjoyable part of the curriculum, I am convinced that it is not the most important school subject. Academic disciplines remain the true foundation of education.
