1) Yes, I have been to a zoo once, when my family took me to the Moscow Zoo a few years ago. It was a big and busy place with lots of enclosures, and I especially remember the funny monkeys and the huge elephants.

2) I think a visit to a zoo can be useful for a child because it helps them see wild animals in real life instead of just in pictures. However, it is only really useful if the animals are kept in good conditions and the child also learns how they live in nature.

3) In zoos people can see a wide range of animals, from lions, tigers and bears to giraffes, monkeys and different kinds of birds. There are usually also reptiles, like snakes and crocodiles, and sometimes sea animals in special aquariums.

4) Zoos can play an important role in protecting endangered species by breeding them and then sometimes releasing them back into the wild. They also help scientists study rare animals and teach visitors why these species need protection.

5) One disadvantage of zoos is that animals often live in small enclosures and cannot behave as freely as they would in the wild. Besides, some zoos are more interested in making money from visitors than in really caring for the animals' health and well-being.
