People disagree about whether clothing can change our behaviour, rather than simply reflect our personality.

In my opinion, clothes can indeed influence people's behaviour. Firstly, a strict business suit or a uniform usually makes a person feel more serious, disciplined and responsible, so we straighten our back and choose our words more carefully. Secondly, when we wear something we consider stylish and suitable for the occasion, our confidence grows, and we become more open and active in communication. Finally, certain outfits, such as sportswear, encourage us to move more and even to exercise.

However, some people believe that clothes have no real power over behaviour. They argue that our actions are determined by our character, upbringing and mood, while clothing is only an external detail that can easily be ignored. Moreover, a person may have no choice about what to wear, for example at school or at work, and still behave in a completely natural way.

I cannot fully agree with this opposing view. Although character certainly matters, everyday situations show that the same person may act differently in a formal suit and in old jeans. Clothes send signals both to others and to ourselves, and these signals inevitably affect our behaviour.

To sum up, I firmly believe that what we wear can influence how we behave. Therefore, we should choose our clothes thoughtfully, remembering that they are not just fabric but a powerful tool that shapes our actions.
