Digital skills are common at work, but people disagree about whether digital literacy guarantees professional success. I consider it important alongside other skills.

In my opinion, digital literacy is extremely important today. Firstly, most jobs require at least basic computer skills: writing reports, sending emails or using special software. Secondly, digital skills help workers learn faster, because they can find information, take online courses and communicate with colleagues. Thirdly, technology develops quickly, and people who can adapt to new tools are more likely to be promoted.

However, some people think that digital literacy is not the main factor. They say that professional knowledge and practical experience matter much more, and that a talented doctor, builder or artist can succeed even with weak computer skills. They also point out that personal qualities such as responsibility, creativity and the ability to work in a team are valued by employers no less than technology skills.

I cannot fully agree with this opposing view. Of course, professional knowledge and personal qualities are necessary, but in the modern world they are difficult to use without digital tools. Even traditional professions now depend on computers for planning, communication and record keeping, so a lack of digital literacy can seriously limit a person's career.

In conclusion, digital literacy is a very important condition for success in most occupations, though it works best together with professional skills and personal qualities. Therefore, I believe it is a key, but not the only key, to success.
