Some people believe that having good friends is the key to a happy life. Others argue that happiness depends on many other factors. In my opinion, good friends are indeed one of the most important sources of happiness.

To begin with, true friends provide emotional support in difficult times. When we face problems, a friend's advice and sympathy help us cope with stress and feel less lonely. Moreover, good friends make our everyday life more enjoyable: sharing jokes, hobbies and celebrations creates warm memories that make us genuinely happy. Finally, close friendships give us a sense of belonging, which is a basic human need.

However, some people think that friends are not necessary for happiness. They claim that a person can be happy alone, focusing on career, family or personal interests. In their view, friendships often bring disappointment, conflicts and obligations that only make life more complicated.

I cannot agree with this position. Although family and work are important, they cannot fully replace friendship, because friends are the people we choose ourselves. Of course, some relationships end badly, but this does not mean that all friendships are harmful. On the contrary, the ability to build close bonds usually makes people happier and healthier.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that good friends are essential for happiness. They support us, enrich our lives and help us feel that we truly belong.
