Hi, I'm recording this voice message because we can't send the photos for our school project "Professions" right now. I've chosen two pictures that fit the topic really well. The first one shows an older male teacher explaining mathematics at a blackboard in a classroom. The second one shows a mechanic demonstrating something inside the engine bay of a car to a woman. These two photos illustrate very different kinds of work. In the first picture the setting is a quiet classroom and the main tool is knowledge, while in the second one the setting is a garage and the main tool is practical skill with machines. Another difference is the audience: the teacher works with a whole group of students, whereas the mechanic here is helping just one person. As for the advantages, teaching gives you the joy of sharing knowledge and seeing your students grow, and it usually offers stable working hours. The mechanic's job, on the other hand, is very practical, because you can see the concrete result of your work and skilled specialists are always in demand. However, both professions have their downsides. Teachers often spend hours preparing lessons and checking homework, which can be really tiring, and mechanics work in physically hard conditions, often dealing with dirt, noise and tight deadlines. Personally, I would prefer the profession of a teacher, because I enjoy explaining things to others and I think it is a great feeling to inspire young people.
