These two photographs show young people with their pets. In the first picture, a girl is carrying a small pet mouse in the breast pocket of her shirt. In the second picture, a girl is holding a small long-haired dog in her arms. Both photos were probably taken indoors, at home. The common thing between the pictures is that both show a girl with a small pet. They also show a close, caring relationship between the owner and the animal. However, the pets themselves are very different. The mouse is a tiny rodent that lives in a pocket, while the dog is a fluffy domestic animal that needs to be held. The first pet is unusual and exotic, whereas the second one is a traditional and popular companion. Besides, a mouse is quiet and undemanding, but a dog needs much more attention and care. As for me, I prefer the pet in the second picture, the small long-haired dog. I have chosen it because a dog is a real friend that can respond to people and share emotions. It can also be walked and played with, which makes the bond much stronger. A mouse, on the other hand, is too small and fragile for such interaction. That is why the dog seems to me a more rewarding and interesting pet.
