Hi, I've found two great pictures for our project on shopping and I want to tell you about them. The first photo shows a family — parents and their daughter — in a supermarket with a full trolley, so they are doing their weekly shopping together. The second photo shows a woman at home holding a bank card and using a laptop, which means she is buying something online. I chose these two pictures because they clearly illustrate the two main ways of shopping today: in a real shop and on the Internet. They are quite different in several ways. In the first picture the whole family is out in a busy public place, while in the second the woman is alone in a quiet home environment. The first type of shopping is physical and you can see and touch the products, whereas online shopping happens on a screen and the goods are delivered later. Going to a supermarket has its advantages: you can check the quality of fresh food yourself and take everything home immediately. However, it also has disadvantages, because it takes a lot of time and can be quite tiring, especially with a full trolley. Online shopping is convenient and fast, and you can compare prices without leaving your sofa. On the other hand, you cannot examine the goods before paying, and delivery sometimes takes several days. As for me, I prefer shopping online for clothes and gadgets, but I like going to the supermarket for food. I think a mix of both ways is the most sensible choice for our project.
