Hi, I wanted to tell you about the two photos I've found for our school project called "School subjects". The first picture shows two children in white lab coats and safety glasses, and they are looking at colourful liquids in test tubes during a science lesson. The second picture shows a teacher standing in a classroom and explaining something to the children who are sitting at their desks. So the main difference is that in the first photo the pupils are doing a hands-on experiment themselves, while in the second one they are just listening to the teacher. Another difference is the setting and the mood: the laboratory looks active and exciting, whereas the ordinary classroom looks calmer and more traditional. As for the subjects, I think the first one is chemistry or biology, and the second one is probably history or literature. The good thing about science subjects is that they let you experiment and see things with your own eyes, which makes the material much easier to remember. They also develop useful practical skills and teach you to think logically. On the other hand, science lessons can be quite difficult, because you have to learn a lot of formulas and terms, and sometimes the experiments do not work as planned. The advantage of subjects like history or literature is that they help you understand people and the world around you, and they are usually based on interesting stories and discussions. However, they often require reading and memorising long texts, and some pupils find them a bit boring because there is less action. If I had to choose, I would prefer the subject in the first photo, that is science, because I really enjoy doing experiments and discovering how things work.
