Nowadays, information technology is one of the most attractive fields for young people in Zetland, and our project explores why local teenagers choose this career path. To find out, we analysed the results of an opinion poll.

According to the table, the leading reason is a good salary, chosen by 33% of the respondents. Many vacancies come second with 25%, while working from home is mentioned by 20% of the teenagers. Creative work and constant development are far less popular, at 14% and 8% respectively.

Comparing the figures, financial motivation is more than four times as strong as the desire for constant development (33% versus 8%). This suggests that most Zetland teenagers view IT primarily as a stable and well-paid job rather than a chance for self-improvement. Interestingly, working from home (20%) is almost as important as the abundance of vacancies, which shows that flexibility matters greatly to the younger generation.

However, some IT jobs can lead to a sedentary lifestyle and constant screen time, causing health problems such as back pain and eye strain. A reasonable solution is to encourage regular breaks, sports and a well-organised workspace, both at the office and at home.

In conclusion, I believe IT is extremely important in the modern world, because it drives communication, education and the economy. Moreover, it offers young specialists stable incomes and flexible working conditions, which explains its popularity in Zetland.
